Montserrat Ferry Service Ltd. is following a clear, phased roadmap to deliver a reliable, Montserrat-owned ferry service by Summer 2026. This roadmap
balances planning, regulation, investment, and operational readiness, ensuring the service is safe, compliant, and built to last.

Foundations and Engagement

The roadmap begins with consultation with the Government of Montserrat, finalisation of the business plan, securing initial funding, and initiating regulatory reviews. Company registration, assignment of key roles, and the launch of this website create the platform for transparent engagement with investors, partners, and the public.

Regulatory Readiness and Procurement

Licensing and certification requirements are finalised with the relevant Port Authorities and maritime regulators. Operational dry runs test systems and processes, while preparations are made for contract procurement and vessel selection.

Vessel and Operations Build-Out

The ferry vessel is purchased, inspected, and outfitted with safety, passenger, cargo, and communications systems. Staff recruitment, onboarding, and training take place alongside the finalisation of routes, schedules, and standard operating procedures.
